11/11/11 Visited the park on 5 November to check out the work. The three climbing areas – Urinal Wall, Royalty Walls and Gravel Pit Tor have all had work undertaken on the access tracks. Erosion was pretty bad so its good to see these measures in place. A few pics and more here
7/8/11 The park is now open and from the sounds of it, quite a lot of work fixing up the tracks damaged by floods has taken place.
30/7/11 Yet to be confirmed but looks like You Yangs will be open early to mid August.
May 2011
Early July is now the expected opening. Contractors will start the asbestos removal process in two weeks time and this should take around 3 weeks or so. CliffCare was successful with a grant last year to do work in the park in the Urinal Wall and Royalty Wall area. Due to the closures, we have had to keep postponing the planned working bees. Now as our grant year is coming to an end with no possibility of getting a working bee in, the grant project has now been pushed to the next year. Due to the flood damage some of the tracks to the climbing areas were damaged but these have now been repaired and are better than they were before. I should have some photos of these to show in the ensuing weeks.
